The recently concluded Grammy Awards is a night for Indie music. Underground music talents out shine mainstream artists such as Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga.
The most coveted album of the year goes to the Arcade Fire beating Eminem on the list of nominees. This is courtesy of their chart topping album called The Suburb. The Arcade Fire appears to be a shocking winner beating big names such as Lady Antebellum’s "Need You Now," Eminem’s "Recovery," Lady Gaga’s "The Fame Monster," and Katy Perry’s "Teenage Dream." The awarding night has ended with unscheduled performance with the winning album of the year.
Another Indie artist that stands out on the Awarding night is Esperanza Spalding who won Best New Artist of the year. Esperanza Spalding is a 26 year old jazz singer who won the New Artist trophy beating big names such as Justine Beiber, Drake, Florence+The Machine and Mumford & Sons.
