Jay Leno Defended Conan O’Brien

Jay Leno is on his serious monologue tonight to discuss the chaos at NBC. He just confirmed that he could be heading back to “The Tonight Show.”

He revealed that if Conan O’Brien leaves his job as “Tonight Show” host, NBC executives have offered Jay his old job back.Jay, on his monologue says that in 2004, the NBC didn’t have faith that he could remain #1 in the ratings. He explained that five years ago, the NBC executive came to him and told him they wanted to give "The Tonight Show" to Conan because he was getting other offers. When Jay said that he is number 1 in the ratings, the NBC executive told him that they don’t think he could be able to maintain that. And so, the network signed him for two years in the air. He asked the NBC executive, "Do you think Conan will go for that?" and the exec said yes.

With his head-on with Conan, Leno repeatedly appreciated Conan calling him a "gentleman". He also made an appeal that we should not blame Conan O’Brien for all of this.

At the end of his monologue, Leno said that neither of them were delivering the ratings they should have been.

"Don’t blame Conan O’Brien. Nice guy, good family guy, great guy. He and I have talked, and not a problem since then," Leno said.

Who Will Replace Cowell on American Idol?

It has been confirmed that Simon Cowell will exit the portal of American Idol.

Now, the big question is: Who will replace him?

Or the right question is:  Will anyone be able to replace him?

Simon’s way of judging is something that people admires, contradicts and cheers at. His straight talking and tactless comment is the spice of the show.

Let’s answer the first question first. Who do you think will replace Simon Cowell on the show?

The website bookmakers.com started to offer some possibilities and it comes out that the British journalist Piers Morgan is the favourite.

Names such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Quincy Jones and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul are also on the list of possibility.

Whoever will replace Simon Cowell will surely feel the pressure because Simon’s judging prowess is already a mile ahead.

This will lead us to the second question. Will anyone be able to replace him?

Well, certainly not. Simon Cowell is a unique entity as well as his way of judging. So we just can’t expect that we will be having Cowell’s clone to take his place.

According to Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment at TV network Fox, it is impossible to completely replace the sarcastic music executive.

"We’re not going to find a Simon clone who can do what he does because he’s one of a kind," He said.

The American Idol staff will just see to it that the chemistry of the new judges will be as good as it can be.

Simon Cowell Quits American Idol

The sharpest and the roughest judge of American Idol Simon Cowell will leave the show this season. He will join "The X Factor", a show he created and is a hit in Britain.

American Idol will never be the same without Cowell, this is a big challenge and a big threat to this most popular singing show in America. Paula Abdul, on the other hand has been replaced by Ellen DeGeneres.

People of America and all over the world always look up to Cowell’s caustic comments. And now that Cowell leave the show, we will no longer hear his sharp comments.

Simon quits "Idol" because he said it would have been difficult for him to do both shows. It is reported that he made $36 million a year to be on "American Idol," he still owns "The X Factor" and he could make more money on his own show rather than on "Idol".

"I was offered a lot of money to stay on," Cowell said. "But that wasn’t the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge."

American Idol staffs are working hard to make the show stay on top without Simon Cowell.

But still, American Idol will never be the same without Simon Cowell.
